Welcome to the Mashed Potato Crew outreach guide. Before you begin reading about this outreach, we’d like to make sure you know what you need to about San Francisco’s inner city by visiting the Backstory Page.

What is it?

Our Mashed Potato Crew team helps make the mash potatoes that go in every delivered and served meal at the Conference. The food is cooked in our their floor kitchen and is distributed to the three different meal Prep sites where about 8,000 meals are produced, total.

The Need

If there is one outreach that calls for a servant to pour at love into an action, it is Mashed Potato Crew. It is not the most recognized role but Jesus' heart for the meek and laying down one's life aligns with this team. Even so, the meals put together and delivered to the residents who are hungry and in need of love is hinged on what the Mashed Potato Crew produces.  

    The Method

This team will most likely miss the morning session and report immediately to their site (230 Jones St.) As you arrive you will be briefed on the details of the day by a City Impact representative. After the briefing, you can expect to immediately get plugged in. The Mashed Potato Crew’s job is to ensure that:

  1. Quota of mashed potatoes are produced and sent to the Meal Prep Sites on time
  2. The quality of mashed potatoes remains of high standard
  3. The kitchen and surrounding areas are kept organized and clean throughout outreach
  4. time

The Impact

The Kitchen is the engine that will drive much of the Conference. Food is the best way to start conversations with members of the community and will be used by the Meal Delivery, Street Cafe, and Medical Teams. Your work in the Kitchen will enable hundreds of volunteers to reach the lives of the community through conversation and prayer.
